About THE BOOK “PAINTING ANGELS”
It is painful to lose things in life (your work, home, physical possessions). It is far more painful to lose people/loved ones in life (divorce, death). But the worst pain of all is when we lose our connection with the reality of life and our Father God. We simply cannot afford to lose our souls. None of us can afford to sacrifice our few intimate moments of prayer and communion with our Creator because of other responsibilities or pleasures. For without this relationship, we might one day look in the mirror and observe a living body encasing a dead soul.
After losing various family members within a very short time I found some relieve from the pain of loss by reading the Bible, praying, meditation, reading some religious and motivational literature and a lot of soul searching, I then wrote the book “Painting Angels”. It has been a journey for me that ultimately made me realise that our sole life purpose and journey is our relationship with our Father God (i.e. LOVE).
The message of the book “Painting Angels”, together with the distribution of Jesus and Magdalena DVD’s and Broad and Narrow road posters is to create awareness that loss of loved ones happens around us daily, to offer some form of comfort for the loss of a loved one and to realise the most important thing in life, to open your heart and mind to understand your Father God. We have a fear of what is going to happen to the world, we fear for our finances and our health, our family, children, friends and our country, old age and loneliness, the past and the future, life and even death. Many people do not have answers or do not know how to cope or where to find help. When we lose a family member or a loved one it is very painful, and although we all know that our grief is a normal and natural response to loss, we do not know how long we will be engulfed in the aftermath of the loss, what to expect and how long it will last.

FOREWORD / PREFACE
This is a true story of two families, one in South Africa and the other in Ireland, and the sudden and accidental loss of family members within a very short space of time. The loss touched the lives of countless people, even those who do not believe in God. It did not matter what religious beliefs or faith they had, they experienced God’s grace and everlasting Love. In the midst of all the pain and heartache it is impossible to influence other human beings around you positively, on your own. This is where God’s divine Love, present in all of us as spiritual beings, takes over (if you want it or not). “Because the Kingdom of God is within all of you” (Luke 17:21)
This is a recorded recollection of events that brought families, friends and the community together in a very sad, but spiritual way. Losing family members to death leaves many unanswered questions and the most precious experiences in our lives were not found in superficial pleasure, but in the hour of our most painful sorrow and sadness. Our Faith and God’s grace helped us bear the sorrow and pain with dignity. Through the sudden and tragic death of family members we were jolted into understanding through art, dreams, modern day signs, visions and miracles that we are vulnerable human beings placed on earth for a very short time, forgetting that we are spiritual beings, destined to live forever. During this sad time, for more than a week, I was woken between 2am and 3am every night and started writing some of this book and sketching paintings. We received so many exciting visions/dreams/signs/messages/blessings from God – of rainbows, paintings, the art lessons I give to some of the San people (Bushmen), San Rock Art Paintings, my own rock art paintings, as well as, more recently, the rock art paintings of the Cross on the summit of Carrauntoohil, Ireland – that we have no option but to share them.
You and I are part of God’s creation, His “Work of Art”, a human being (like a physical canvas or painting on earth), I am also, as you are, more importantly, a spiritual being (everlasting spiritual canvas or painting in heaven) created as God’s representative on earth. After death (of my physical canvas or painting), if I want to or allow it, my spiritual canvas is destined for continued fellowship with our heavenly Father. By using Creation and my Art as the catalyst, I seek to assist someone by easing the pain of losing a loved one and to hopefully answer some of the many unanswered questions through God’s divine grace and perfect love.
My prayer for this book is that you, the reader, will receive a healthy desire to love unconditionally, to seek your spirit daily and to plunge deeper into your creative talents. Explore the miracle of the creation of “God’s Work of Art” – “The Kingdom of God”, take responsibility for it, enjoy and love your work/talents, in whatever field they are, with the Divine and Perfect Love that Christ has created/painted within each and every one of us. I pray that you, the reader, will receive and be aware and alert to God’s presence daily. Remember it is impossible to live a full and exciting life if you remain ignorant regarding the reality of your spiritual needs. You were created in God’s image and therefore you are a spiritual being. You are “God’s Work of Art”. In the case of our family, it was a traumatic life situation that shook us to the core and made us evaluate what is important to us. I pray that this book will be the catalyst for the reader to start searching for answers. The spiritual path is not limited to religions or dogmas, it is the path to God and it is simply the wonder of one’s own created beauty being revealed to oneself. Becoming spiritual is the smartest, most practical thing one can do in one’s life. The benefits are enormous and the payoff is massive.
